Stock to Art

:thumb130210977:An interview with ... ~elenulin aka `bluem00n
1 What part of the stock gallery do you browse most?
Lately I've been concentrating on flowers/animals/landscapes so I browse the stock images > plants/nature/animals galleries the most.
2Do you browse for specific images or do you look through to see if something inspires you?
Well, most of the time I look for specific images but sometimes when I'll have an idea in mind I'll look through everything to find inspiration.
3What are your chosen tools that you use when working with a stock image?
Well, I use photoshop for digital painting and real life tools such as pencils, watercolours and acrylics for traditional paintings
4Do you have any tips to help other stock users that will make stock-crediting easier?
Actually, yes. Favourite the stock image you want to/have used. It makes it so easier to find later.
Also, I usually download the image into whatever folder my painting is in (when you press download instead of save as dA automatically saves the image with the deviation name + deviant name so it's easier to credit!) so I can find it more easily.
5What would you like to see more of in the stock gallery?
I would like to see more "artistic" stock. Stock that takes into consideration good lighting, composition, and sometimes even depth of field.
6What do you feel the relationship is between the stock community and the rest of dA?
Well, the stock community is the heart of dA, really. In many artist's galleries nowadays you see the use of stock. Stock has gotten a huge spotlight over it in the past few years so that the quality of it has gone up and as a result more and more people turn to dA to find quality stock.
It's a give and take, really. Stock people give away what they feel they can and dA users take, use and give the stocker the spotlight and credit they deserve.
Feel free to give me some thumbs of your work and if you have a stock account also tell me that.
~elenulin my stock account and thumbs >.> so much in my gallery has been made with stock
