Featured Stock

An interview with...^PirateLotus-Stock

1:First off - what inspired you to start a stock account?
I love taking pictures of everything, especially flowers and mountains.  I always appreciated the stock providers I used stock from, and I thought it would be a fun thing to do.  I really wanted to see what people could make with my pictures.  It's kind of funny; I started the stock account with pictures I thought weren't good enough to go on my art account.  Silly me.  Now I take pictures for my stock account, and the ones that aren't good for stock go on my art account :XD:

2:How did you choose your username?
Well, I  knew the word "stock" would be in there, and I wanted something with "pirate" in it ('cause they're sexy), but also something kind of girly.  So I thought a nice tough but pretty flower would do the trick.

3:What is it about the stock community that keeps you active?
I definitely feel more a part of the community now than I did with my art account.  Stockers are really supportive of each other, and everyone enjoys making their stock.  It makes the stock world a fun place to be! Yay stock!

4:How would you like your stock to be used more?
I really enjoy seeing the fantasy landscapes people come up with, but really I just want my stock to be used in anything that has a lot of work and care put into it.  Those are always my favorites.

5:Do you have any tips for people starting a stock account?
More of a warning: If you do landscape...I hope you like horsies

6:Why chose to stock at DA and not morguefile/sxc/photlia/etc...
Well, for one thing, I never even heard of them before I came to dA.  And also they are way too impersonal.

7:How far would you go to take a stock picture?
I wish I could go to the moon and get some shots of the earth.  I would do that.

8:Are there any things that you wish people would stop doing with your stock?
Cutting out...certain 4-legged animals...and pasting them onto my landscapes without doing anything to either of the images.

9:Show me three of your favourite stock uses!
Ok! But I gotta say a few words about them too :D
This is a close-up of a manip, and I love it, it's gorgeous.  I don't hate all horse manips ;)
I just love the way she depicted her 2D character in 3D "real-life"
:thumb110563149:  Amazing surreal ideas, and executed beautifully :wow:

10:Is there anyone at dA whose stock you particularly admire, or have any other stock artists influenced your own work?
Why, yes! :iconcookiekitty-stock::iconfantasystock::iconflordelys-stock::icongwathiell::iconpieceofmestock::iconsalsolastock:

11: Which is your personal favourite stock
photo from your gallery?

Hm, that's tough...I think

12: What inspires you most to do stock?
Seeing the wide variety of things people make out of them.  It just amazes me and keeps me wanting to make more!

13:What would win in a fight - a pirate or a lotus?
I dunno, lotuses are pretty tough...but pirates have very effective weedwackers.  I guess it depends on how drunk the pirate is.

Thank you ^PirateLotus-Stock!
